Wow! This week with my father being in the hospital has stirred up several emotions from myself and other family member, yet I am very grateful for the new readings in GS because It gave me a reality check to be cognizant of my emotional state. I recognized when my emotions were trying to control me rather than me controlling them I was able to “master my emotions.”
Og said, “I will master my moods I will control my destiny” and, “I had understand and recognize the moods of him on whom I call. I will make allowances for his anger and irritation of today for he knows no the secret of controlling his mind.” These are valuable secrets!
In order to master my emotions I must control my thoughts:
“Weak is he who permits his thoughts to control his actions; strong is he who forces his actions to control his thoughts”-OG.
Today, I am the master my emotions. I refrain from putting my emotions in a good and bad pile the feeling helps me understand my emotional state. Observe the feeling, recognize the thought that is causing the feelings…(cause and effect). Then learn to master those emotions. Journaling is one way to get emotions out in the open which in turn, starts the process of dealing first with the guy or gal in the mirror. Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize and master emotions.
